…the sun’s a-shinin‘ in so. cal… and it’s grilling time…
…the only appropriate season-opener… is, of course… a big ole cheeseburger (cooked thoroughly… practically to the consistency of my shoe sole)…
…he makes a mean cheeseburger…affectionately referred to as belk’s bomb burger… for which trade secrets i can not reveal… mostly because i don’t even get to help with the creation… he’s got a system… so i stick with makin’ the sides, condiments, or dessert…
…and last weekend… to start the season off right… laura and i decided to try something new… deep-fried onion straws… to pile atop or alongside the big slab o’ well-cooked meat…
i love grilling season
…it was soooo much easier than i expected… honestly… i was a bit nervous… but it was a cinch… the recipe is adapted from this one on the Pioneer Woman’s cooking blog…

… these brownies are seriously dense chocolate-laden dreams… if you know a choco-holic… these are the perfect fix… it is practically impossible to eat a whole square without a glass of milk… or if you have a plain milk aversion as i do… a bowl of ice cream… to wash it down…
… when i made these recently… i thought it would be fun to make brownie bites… and scoop the batter into mini muffin tins…

…ok… so there aren’t too many things i make repeatedly… mostly because i’ve ALWAYS got a new recipe to try…
…but there is one thing… that receives more requests than anything… one thing that i consistently create… one thing that has become a staple and a tradition… my cheesy bean dip in the croc pot…
…i really shouldn’t even reveal the recipe… i’m about to lose my claim to fame… but it’s just so easy and irresistible… i must share… i just must… so here it is… THE cheesy croc pot dip…
