…wow… this is my 100th post… so it’s only proper that it’s about something celebratory… and near and dear to my heart…
…CUPCAKES (obviously)…
…specifically, cupcakes from CB’s Cupcakes located in the Westfield UTC in La Jolla, Ca… which i sampled yesterday on my lunch break as documented by the HORRIBLE cell phone shot after the jump… that i barely took time to snap before devouring…
…this was a mini key lime cupcake, with cream cheese frosting, and graham cracker sprinkles…
…the details are what make CB’s different than the bajillion other cupcake shops popping up everywhere (though less rapidly than serve-yourself fro-yo)…as the customer gets to build their own cupcake… by choosing from a list of cupcake flavors… adding the frosting flavor of choice… and one free topping…
Daily Cupcake Flavors are: Vanilla, Chocolate, Red Velvet, and Key Lime… enhanced by a “Flavor of the Month” (September is “Brownie”)
Daily Frosting options are: Chocolate, Cream Cheese, and Vanilla Buttercream
Daily Topping Options are: Rainbow Sprinkles, Chocolate Sprinkles, Pink Sugar, M&M’s, Oreo Cookie Crumbles, Graham Cracker Crumbs, Gummi Bears, Sugar Shapes, Cotton Candy, and Coke (phew, i’ve got a sugar rush just from listing them)
…i don’t do math… bet i’ve got to go MANY more times to try all of the combination’s… and i plan to… luckily they’re pretty much guilt free… because all of the options come in 2 sizes… regular… and MINI… which means bite-size… which means a pittance of calories and COMPLETELY acceptable… i’m just sayin’… it’ll take at least a weeks worth of trying the mini’s to add up to one regular… so logically- one whole cupcake per week… so not that bad…
…In addition to the San Diego location, there are also shops in Temecula and Glendale… and… they’re out at all of the So Cal County Fairs this summer…so there are LOTS of opportunities to give these Cupcakes a try…
