… these brownies are seriously dense chocolate-laden dreams… if you know a choco-holic… these are the perfect fix… it is practically impossible to eat a whole square without a glass of milk… or if you have a plain milk aversion as i do… a bowl of ice cream… to wash it down…
… when i made these recently… i thought it would be fun to make brownie bites… and scoop the batter into mini muffin tins…

brownie bite batter

...brownie bites...
… but then i realized that was going to take FOREVER… which i so didn’t have… so i dumped the remaining batter into a cake pan…

Necessities
1 1/2 Cups Butter (3 sticks)
8 ounces unsweetened chocolate
4 cups of sugar
8 large eggs
2 1/2 cups flour
4 teaspoons vanilla
1 bag chocolate chips
Optional Necessities
1 tub cool whip
1 bag butterscotch chips, nuts, toffee bits, or whatever else you love…
…. the recipe can obviously be cut in half as this makes a large amount of brownies… but as long as i am baking i figure i might as well make it worth it…
…preheat oven to 350 and line the baking pan with foil or parchment paper… leaving a small amount hanging over the edge so that the brownies can be lifted out with ease after baking…
… melt butter and chocolate squares together in microwave for 4 minutes… stir until smooth… and allow to sit for 5 minutes(ish)… blend in sugar, eggs, flour and vanilla… add 1 cup chocolate chips (about half the bag)… pour batter into cake pan… top batter with remaining chocolate chips… and bake for 28-30 minutes…
…as far as the optional necessities… adding a tub of cool whip to the batter does change these brownies a bit… making them MUCH lighter and creamier… which i personally prefer… if this sounds more your style… add the cool whip along with the other blended ingredients…
…the optional butterscotch chips etc. are for sprinkling over the top… and really the possibilities are endless… this is where you can make the brownies your own… customizing it to your household preferences… anything goes from white chocolate chips to almond slivers to rainbow sprinkles… if it goes with chocolate... dump it on top…
